More than just hair.

Welcome to a brand that promotes being the most full, uncut version of yourself. 

Started by solo-prenuer Michelle Wes, Salon Uncensored is a healing hair salon in Mount Pleasant, SC that incorporates reiki energy work into hair styling services. Michelle had long been dreaming up this concept by the time that we started talking about actually bringing it to life last year.

Doing hair for the last 15 years, Michelle saw firsthand how impactful her time spent with clients in the chair actually was, for them and for her. It was more than just a hair appointment, it was a time to work through daily struggles, share lifetime dreams and goals, and really just enjoy an hour or two of “me time” that we often do not get. With this, she wanted to do even more for her clients which is why she made the decision to combine her services as a hair stylist and reiki master in order to launch a healing hair salon.

Project Brief

Moxie Made did a full re-brand for Michelle's already existing hair salon formally known as Thairapy. We started from the ground up to build a brand that encompassed not only the new business model she was wanting, but also to better align better with her as a Stylist + Reiki Master.

In this process we worked on:

• Selecting a new business name
• Establishing a full brand strategy as a healing hair salon
• Crafting a new brand design
• Building and designing a new website
• Launching the new brand on Instagram

One of our favorite ‘Easter eggs’ in the logo design is how we incorporated Michelle’s last name, Wes, as the acronym for Wellness, Energy, and Style ✨ We also worked alongside Michelle to handle the messaging for communicating with her current clientele about the launch of the re-brand + get them excited about it — because they are your biggest fans and greatest assets after all!
